Collective

Welcome to the new Sixty Years War Collective!

As you may have noticed we've done a site redesign (still working out some kinks!) and relaunch in honor of Sixty Years War becoming a full fledged artists collective. We're pleased to announce the addition of several new artists into the fold and also some familiar faces who will begin sharing some of their work for all of you.

We're all very proud of where we've come in the two years we've been working as a record label and we hope the next two years are just as worthwhile.

We hope to become a watermark for art, photography, design, music and writing... not just the Midwest or even the United States, but all over the world.

Our new network of artists includes:

  • Alexandre Oscodar an up and coming poet and writer from the South of France.

  • A.P. Swearengin a sculpter, painter and all around visual artist from Kansas City now living in Minneapolis. Austin is also a singer-songwriter. A man of many talents.

  • Andrea Harvey a member of Wooden Satellites and an incredibly gifted graphic designer based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

  • Cynthia Fox a minimalist painter from San Diego.

  • Emily Hunt a photographer based out of Kansas City, Emily's work with the polaroid format is something to behold.

  • Drew Allegre a long time friend of everyone here at SYW, Drew's photography is a true resource to musicians in the midwest and certainly to this website!

  • Helen Cunningham a photographer from Manchester currently gracing the city of San Diego with her well trained eye.

A big warm welcome to all our new artists!

In addition, we'll be helping to host a network of websites that are maintained by artists in the collective and friends of ours, these include:

  • Back In The USSA a current events/politics news blog written by our very own, Lee Miles.

  • Rob Thoughts, a style and culture blog maintained by our friend Robert Piña.

  • Tripa J a photo and travelogue about the adventures of J from New Zealand.

Stay tuned for more big news in the coming weeks!

Longsleeves Autumn Tour & New Single

We're pleased to announce that Longsleeves will be going on tour during the month of October to promote an as-yet-untitled EP due to be released on the road during that tour.

Look for a digital version of the record in November or December, but until then we're giving away a free digital single to promote the tour and new recordings.

As you'll notice, the final track on the record is vocals only, so we're encouraging everyone in who is interested to remix the hell out of the track and send it back to us via email. We'll be sure to share any remixes we really like!
