Helen Cunningham
About: After completing her University degree in the UK, Helen moved to California and continued to document her personal experiences through photographs deriving from pinhole and archaic photography methods. Running 35mm film through a Holga led her to discover that by allowing the camera most of the artistic license, the resulting images each became their own canvas. Her work remarks on the importance of treasuring the almost infinate selection of beauty in everyday life, and serves a primary purpose of recording the artist's own journey through life. Inspired by research on dreams and memories, Helen focuses on the moments that capture her own imagination as her landscape evolves. After discovering a love for photography at college and continuing on to university, she started to see how offhand decisions almost always held the main responsibility for the very large tangents in her lifestyle. By the time her studies had finished, she had established a living six thousand miles from home had developed a unique view on the path of life. Her philosophy subsequently became that small decisions should never be underestimated. Media: Elsewhere: http://www.helencunningham.com/
