Emily Hunt
About: Emily Hunt has lived in the northeastern part of Kansas her entire life. She's always loved photography, but it wasn't until her late high school/college years, when she discovered polaroids, that she developed a passion for taking photos. Emily prefers shooting Polaroids for their unexpected blemishes, soft focus, and, of course, the instant gratification. Her inspiration stems from anything and everything, particularly Kansas landscapes, late afternoon shadows, sleeping cats, abandoned homes, traveling, reflections, oceans, clouds, vintage style, and exploring in the woods. She also loves experimenting with expired and heat damaged film. She had her first gallery showing in June of 2009, at the Plenum Space in Kansas City, Mo. Some of her work will be published in two group photo books scheduled to be released in late 2009. She also hopes to produce a photo book of her own in 2010. Emily is currently mourning the end of production of Polaroid film, and is frantically stocking up on every pack of film she can possibly find while also searching for an acceptable new medium.
